Objective:
One, to see how a melody line can repeat itself at different pitches
and the effect that doing so has on the song. Two, to learn "Go tell Aunt
Rhody" and do actions to it.
Approximate grade level: second and third
Student activities: Sing "Go tell Aunt Rhody", examine the steps that the melody line takes and reflect on the relationship between the first and third "Go tell Aunt Rhody" lines. Assume roles of goose, gander, goslings, child and Aunt Rhody.
Materials: overhead transparency with text and melody step diagram, banjo, stuffed goose, black jacket, pillow, shawl.
